One of my friends told me about Cordova Public library's story hour for toddlers and another story hour at a bookstore. This week we tried both out.
Brian went with us to the story hour at Cordova library. It was very crowded. I would say there were at least fifty people in the room. The lady was real good. She read 3 books and did songs in between. The kids made a Valentine, and they had a treat for them when they left {a cup full of candy - just what I want Bliss to have}.
During the stories it seemed like Bliss did not pay that much attention.
Today when Brian got Bliss up from her nap she was singing a song. Brian said, "You are going to have to sing it for Mommy because I do not know what you are saying."
She was saying, "Two monkeys jumping on bed."
The lady from the Thursday story hour did '5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed' with hand motions. Bliss had only heard it one time. That is all it takes for her. I really hope she has that good of a memory. She will surpass her mother's knowledge pretty quickly if that is the case.
I did not get any pictures of the story hour from Friday. It was in a cute bookstore. A sweet older woman did a great job with the kids that were there. It was much smaller. Bliss seemed to really enjoy herself at this story hour. It was not so overwhelming.
Today we have been singing all kinds of songs. Bliss now can sing most of the words to "3 little monkeys", "Deep and wide", "Oh Happy Day", "The BIBLE", "ABCs", and "Jesus Loves Me".
These were the ones she requested to sing over and over today. Her little memory and vocabulary is growing! I am so proud of my precious girl!
